Terms of Use
Last updated 10 September 2026
1. Using HeadTidy
You may use HeadTidy if you can legally enter into this agreement. HeadTidy is not intended for children under 14, which is the age of digital consent in Lithuania; if you are between 14 and the age of majority where you live, use it only with your parent or guardian's knowledge. Keep your account and device access secure, and give accurate account information. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
2. Your maps remain yours
You own the thoughts, images, notes and other content you create. You give HeadTidy only the limited permission needed to store, process, sync, display and export that content in order to provide the features you ask for. Guest and local test maps stay in your browser. Signed-in accounts also store maps and collaboration history in HeadTidy's cloud infrastructure.
You are responsible for the content you put into HeadTidy and for having the right to use it. If a third party brings a claim against HeadTidy because of content you added or because you used the service in breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with that claim. This does not apply to anything caused by HeadTidy's own fault, and nothing in it affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
3. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, interfere with it, attempt unauthorised access, upload unlawful or malicious material, infringe anyone's rights, or use HeadTidy to cause harm. Security testing requires prior written permission.
HeadTidy is not a password manager, payment vault, identity-document repository, medical-record system or other regulated system of record. Do not deliberately store passwords, authentication codes, complete payment-card or bank credentials, copies of identity documents, patient records, diagnoses, biometric or genetic data, or similarly high-risk information in the service. Do not add another person's personal data unless you have a lawful reason and the right to do so.
4. Backups and availability
HeadTidy keeps a local working copy and, for signed-in accounts, syncs to the cloud with version history and recovery points. It remains a young product rather than a guaranteed archival service. Keep your own exports of anything irreplaceable. HeadTidy exports lossless JSON, Markdown, OPML, PNG and PDF on every plan, at any time, and will prompt you if a map has gone a long time without a backup.
HeadTidy does not guarantee that content will never be lost, corrupted, delayed or unavailable. You are responsible for keeping a current, independent export of any content whose loss would matter to you. Clearing this site's browser data may permanently remove local-only content, and cloud sync, version history and recovery points reduce risk but are not substitutes for an independent backup.
No uptime or availability level is promised. Sync depends on your device, your network and third-party infrastructure, any of which can fail. HeadTidy will not intentionally delete your content or make it inaccessible in order to push you to upgrade.
5. Security, account access and sharing
HeadTidy uses technical and organisational measures intended to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of personal data, taking account of the risk and the nature of the service. No internet service can promise perfect security or prevent every attack.
You must take reasonable care of your device, email account, sign-in links and active sessions, and promptly tell headtidy@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access. Private share links are bearer credentials: choose the correct role, add a passcode where appropriate, send a link only to intended recipients, and revoke it when it is no longer needed. HeadTidy is not responsible for disclosure or misuse by a person whom you authorised, or for access resulting from compromise of your device or email account that HeadTidy did not cause.
This allocation of user-controlled risk does not reduce HeadTidy's responsibility for its own processing, its choice and supervision of processors, or security and breach duties that apply under data-protection or consumer law.
6. Paid subscriptions
HeadTidy Free requires no payment. HeadTidy Pro costs €5 per month or €48 per year. Displayed prices are the total you pay, including any VAT that applies. Payments are handled by Stripe; HeadTidy never receives or stores your card details.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Manage billing, which opens Stripe's secure billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals and keeps your access until the end of the period you have already paid for. It is not a refund of that period.
Right of withdrawal. As an EU consumer you may withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of purchase and receive a full refund, whether or not you have used it. Email headtidy@gmail.com and the refund will be issued to your original payment method. Refunds usually reach a statement within 5 to 10 days.
If a payment fails, Stripe may retry it. Access continues during a seven-day grace period before the Free allowance applies again. Starting a chargeback rather than asking for a refund may result in the account being suspended while the dispute is resolved; email first and it will normally be settled faster.
If Pro ends, for cancellation or a failed payment, nothing is deleted. A seven-day grace period keeps your whole workspace editable, after which you choose which three maps stay active on Free. Every other map remains viewable, searchable, exportable and deletable. Prices will not change for an existing subscription without notice before the change takes effect.
7. Product rights
HeadTidy's software, visual identity and documentation are protected by intellectual property law. These terms give you a personal right to use the product, not ownership of it.
8. Suspension and ending use
You may stop using HeadTidy at any time. Access may be limited for serious or repeated misuse, security risk, or legal necessity. Where reasonable, you will get notice and a chance to export your content first.
When this agreement ends, you may retrieve content you created through the available exports free of charge, without unnecessary hindrance, within a reasonable time and in commonly used machine-readable formats, subject only to exceptions permitted by applicable law. Account deletion and retention are described in the Privacy notice.
9. Links, embedded video and other people's content
A Link card for a video address becomes a video card that can play in place. Until you press play, no player is loaded and nothing is requested from the video provider except a still picture. Pressing play loads a player from YouTube's reduced-tracking host, and the first time you do so HeadTidy asks first; you can also open the video on YouTube instead and load nothing here.
Once that player loads, it is Google's product running inside HeadTidy: YouTube's terms of service and Google's privacy policy govern it, and HeadTidy has no control over what it stores, what it shows you next, or whether a given video stays available. HeadTidy does not host, review, endorse or moderate any linked or embedded material, and a card breaking because the video was deleted, made private or geo-restricted is not a fault in the service.
You are responsible for the addresses you add. Do not create a card for content you are not permitted to use, for a secret or token-bearing address, or for material that would breach section 3.
10. Service boundaries, templates and professional advice
HeadTidy is a general organisation tool. It is not an archival, emergency, medical, psychological, legal, tax, immigration, insurance, financial, diagnostic or treatment service, and it is not a substitute for one. Verify dates, calculations, links and exports before relying on them. Internet, browser, device and third-party provider failures can interrupt access or sync.
Templates are starting points, not professional advice of any kind. HeadTidy publishes templates, guides, example cards, prompts, checklists and suggested structures. They are general informational material written to be adapted, they are not tailored to your circumstances, and they create no professional relationship of any kind between you and HeadTidy. They may be incomplete, simplified, out of date, or simply wrong for your situation. Legal, probate, tax, immigration, customs, insurance, employment, medical and financial rules differ by country and change without notice, so confirm anything that matters against an authoritative source for your own jurisdiction and take advice from a qualified professional before acting.
Nothing in HeadTidy is medical or psychological advice. Templates, prompts, checklists and features that mention attention, focus, mood, stress, sleep, habits, exercise, food or wellbeing are organisational tools only. They are not medical or psychological advice, a diagnosis, a screening or assessment tool, a therapy or a treatment, they are never a substitute for a qualified professional, and no output of the product should be read as a clinical statement about you or anyone else. Do not use HeadTidy to decide whether to seek, delay, change, refuse or stop medical care, medication or professional support, and do not rely on it to record or manage clinical information. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services or an appropriate crisis line rather than this product.
You decide whether and how to act on anything in a template, and you remain responsible for that decision and for checking it. Where a template carries its own note saying it is not advice, that note is part of these terms and applies whether or not it is still visible in your copy of the map.
11. Changing or ending the service
HeadTidy is actively developed, so features change. Where a change removes something you relied on, reasonable notice will be given and your existing content will remain readable and exportable. If HeadTidy is ever discontinued, you will be given at least 60 days' notice by email to export your maps, exports will keep working throughout that period, and any prepaid subscription time still outstanding will be refunded pro rata.
12. Responsibility and liability
HeadTidy is provided with the care reasonably expected of a digital service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your mandatory rights as a consumer, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud, deliberate misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or the statutory conformity remedies for digital content and services under EU and Lithuanian law.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows, HeadTidy is not responsible for loss, corruption, deletion or inability to recover data, or for unauthorised access or disclosure, caused by your device or browser, clearing browser data, your actions or account security, a recipient or permission you selected, unsupported integrations, network or third-party infrastructure failure that HeadTidy could not reasonably prevent, your failure to keep an independent export, or events outside HeadTidy's reasonable control. HeadTidy is also not liable for losses caused by prohibited use or ignored safety warnings, lost profits, lost business, or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the service.
Subject to the same mandatory rights, HeadTidy's total liability arising out of the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for HeadTidy in that period, or fifty euros. This cap does not apply where the law does not permit it to apply. In particular, nothing here limits a data subject's right to compensation for damage caused by processing that infringes the GDPR or removes any remedy that applicable law says cannot be excluded or limited. This section does not excuse HeadTidy from using legally required security measures or reasonable care.
13. Events outside anyone's control
Neither party is responsible for failing to meet these terms because of something genuinely outside its reasonable control, such as a hosting or payment provider outage, network failure, cyber attack, power loss, government action or natural disaster. A cyber attack or provider failure counts only to the extent it was not caused or made worse by that party's failure to use measures reasonably required by law or these terms. If such an event continues for more than 30 days, either of us may end the agreement, and you will be refunded pro rata for prepaid time you did not receive.
14. Governing law, complaints and disputes
These terms are governed by Lithuanian law, and disputes may be brought before the courts of Lithuania. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
Please email headtidy@gmail.com first: most complaints are resolved that way, and quickly. If a complaint cannot be settled directly, Lithuanian consumers may contact the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (Valstybine vartotoju teisiu apsaugos tarnyba, vvtat.lt). Consumers elsewhere in the EU can find their national body through the European Consumer Centres Network. The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available.
15. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Not enforcing a term on one occasion does not waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without consent; HeadTidy may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business, and will tell you if that happens. These terms, together with the privacy notice, are the whole agreement between us about the service.
16. Changes and contact
Material changes will be announced before they take effect. HeadTidy is operated by Rene Reede, Skroblų g. 15, LT-03139 Vilnius, Lithuania, under Lithuanian individual activity certificate No. 1465029 (computer programming activity 621090). Contact headtidy@gmail.com.
