A Pomodoro timer that keeps the work in view

A timer is most useful when it reduces switching. HeadTidy opens the task, note and next steps beside the clock instead of sending you to a separate focus app.

Start from the card you intend to finish

Open Focus from any meaningful card. The Focus Desk keeps its title, notes and checklist visible while the clock runs, so the session begins with a concrete target rather than an empty timer.

Choose a realistic interval

Use 25 minutes for the classic Pomodoro rhythm, 15 minutes when starting feels difficult, or 45 minutes for work that needs a longer runway. The best interval is the one that helps you begin and still leaves a deliberate stopping point.

Let the map hold the context

Focused minutes are recorded on the original card. When the session ends, the work remains connected to its branch, due date, labels and related thoughts. There is no separate list to reconcile.

Keep breaks honest

Pause between sessions, stand up, look away from the screen and decide whether the same card still deserves another interval. A Pomodoro timer supports attention, but it should not turn rest into another score.
